Nov 4, 2006 (Sat) – Movie Month @ GTRS: The Inn of the Sixth Happiness Part I

Nov 11, 2006 (Sat) – Movie Month @ GTRS: The Inn of the Sixth Happiness Part II
Synopsis:
Based on the true-life story of Gladys Aylward, who was rejected for missionary work due to her lack of formal education. Undeterred, she worked to earn the money for her passage to a remote village in China. There she wins over the villagers with her good works and friendly, humble approach. But the true test of her spirit and courage comes when the country is invaded by Japan and 100 Chinese orphans turn to her to save their lives.

Nov 18, 2006 (Sat) – Movie Month @ GTRS: The Second Chance
Synopsis:
Ethan Jenkins and Jake Sanders are pastors who come from very different backgrounds. White and well-to-do Ethan is comfortable in his music ministry at media-savvy suburban mega-church The Rock; Jake is a street-smart African-American who ministers to the gang members, teen mothers, and drug addicts of the urban Second Chance. When the two men are suddenly thrown together in a tough neighborhood and forced to work side by side, Ethan discovers there is no boundary between the streets and the sanctuary. But can the faith these two men share overcome the prejudices that divide them to give themselves and a struggling urban church a second chance?

Nov 25, 2006 – Movie Month @ GTRS: The End of the Spear
Synopsis:
The Christian docudrama recounts with spiritual breathlessness the circumstances surrounding the real-life killings of five missionaries at the hands of a violent indigenous Amazon tribe known as the Waodani in Ecuador in 1956. Despite the Waodani’s relentless spear-hurling warfare, the widows of the missionaries boldly and beatifically carry the torch of evangelizing to the Waodani tribe. A passion that sees a time where the tribe’s born-again warriors symbolically end the spearing war, and a time of forgiveness is at hand.
