CNN Blooper / Gaffe – Wireless Mic On whilst Bush Giving Live Speech

Filed under: DEETEE, Fun, Video — delephant @ 1:32 pm

Hahaha… this is so funny!! 🙂

The anchor for CNN “Live From” Ms Kyra Phillips transmited an open mike conversation while President George Bush was doing a Live speech in New Orleans.

Kyra’s wireless microphone was turned on and picked up about a minute and a half of a muffled conversation she had with an unidentified woman where she talked about her husband, laughed and talked about her brother. 🙂

“I’ve got to be protective of him,” she said without being aware that the mic was on. “He’s married, three kids, and his wife is just a control freak.” CNN anchor Daryn Kagan broke into the telecast immediately afterward updating viewers on what Bush had been saying.

WOW!! What a Blooper! Watch the Video below! 🙂

Malaysia Merdeka (National) Day 31 Aug

Filed under: Daren, DEETEE, Events — delephant @ 7:29 am

Malaysia FlagMalaysia turns 49 years on 31 Aug!

Malaysia is a beautiful country, multi ethnic, multi cultural, and the best part everyone lives in harmony with each other. I guess Malaysia is THE best place for food too, with all types of varieties and availability at almost any time oof the day. The other thing that i love Malaysia is the fact that we are located in a country that has no natural disaster. And i believe that’s something to really Thank God for.

Just an interesting thing to bring to attention. I received an email a month ago with regards to our National Anthem. I believe the orignal composers of our Negaraku, were pretty moved by this Hawaiian song called Mamula Moon. Cos the tune of our Negaraku, comes exactly from the Mamula Moon’s introduction tune.

Artist: Felix Mende
lssohn & His Hawaiian Serenaders
Album: Paradise Isle
Year: 1947 (Duration: 00:02:50)

Malaysia’s National Anthem ~ Negara Ku

Lyrics [Download Negaraku Score]
Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku,
Rakyat hidup, bersatu dan maju,
[Rahmat bahagia, Tuhan kurniakan,
Raja kita, selamat bertakhta.] Repeat Twice

Translation into English
Oh, My Motherland,
The Land where my life began,
Where people live in harmony and prosperity,
[With God-given blessings of happiness,
Our King reigns in peace.] Repeat Twice

That was such an interesting discovery! Cos prior to that i have not heard of anything remotely close to that fact before! Anyway my point is … who cares if Negaraku is to the tune of Mamula Moon or Hawaii Five-0 or for that matter any other tune. But more importantly that each time we sing NegaraKu, that we are proud to be Malaysians and to be patriotic and be supportive and be totally for the Malaysia and the development & progress of Malaysia.

As said by many, and i will quote it here ….. Malaysia Boleh

Song : How Great Is Our God [Chris Tomlin / Passion 05]

Filed under: Christian, DEETEE, Worship — delephant @ 7:22 am

Passion 05This aint a new song. How Great is our GOD i believe has been in existance since 2004, when Chris Tomlin released it in his Arriving CD. But i believe it was made even more popular last year and early this year by both Passion 05 and Hillsong London.

As for me, i’ve heard the song over Christian Radio Channels, but suprisingly have not sung this song in church before. Dunno for what reason, but it just was not done.

How Great is Our God is such a majestic song, a song that proclaims God’s Greatness (as in the title of the song), and the song just builds up to such a cresendo as you sing and worship God with this song. I love the build up of the Chorus … to the Bridge and back to the Chorus. And there’s so many variations that you can do with this song.

In fact of all the releases of this song, i love the acappella section done by Hillsong London – Jesus Is – that was really brillant.

Above all, I love what Passion 05 did. They did a medley of How Great is Our God straight into Then Sings My Soul. It was just so awesome when they did. So if u have not tried that variation, try it out in your church… its such a great medley of songs.

Lyrics to HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD [Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, Ed Cash]

The splendor of the King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb
Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Delphi Training is DONE!

Filed under: Daren, DEETEE, MandarinOriental — delephant @ 7:25 am

Well Delphi Training is not really done, or rather the Phase 1 of Delphi Training is completed. We finished a very complex and tedious training for the Sales & Marketing team. It took 5 days from 21-25 Aug.

As mentioned earlier, its a new Sales & Marketing software to help manage our accounts, contacts and bookings. So we have to unlearn all our old program (aka Fidelio Sales & Catering) and put on this new program called Delphi.

As you can see it was a pretty hands on training. Thank God the trainer – Bernard Tan was a funny one, who was pretty ONs and had a lot of wise cracks which kept the group awake 🙂 Otherwise …. gonner!

Delphi Training

This is Cornell Room one of our Training Rooms, see how everyone is just focused in getting things done.

Delphi Training

The second Trainer, Leah helping people along thru the new software.

Delphi Training

A class shot, we had in total 40 people in training. Where we had to split the group into two in order to facilitate the entire training process.

Ewww…Ps Julie Khoo ate a crawly squiggly worm!

Filed under: Christian, DEETEE, Fun, GladTidings — delephant @ 7:26 am

The Glad Tidings Youth Church (GTYC) had the “Fear is NOT a Factor” Rally last nite. It was an amazing day, they started at 2.30pm yesterday with 10 groups of 8 young people in each group competing for the Fear is NOT a Factor Medals.

Amazing stories, they had to drink a concoction of this pungent smelling fruit called the Nuri Fruit (which apparently smelt like horrible cheese and urine altogether!), and there was a “Stick your hand in a box of live Frogs to remove a Key”, and in another event where “frogs” were also used, they had to help the Frogs cross over the finishing line from Point A to Point B. Each group had to encourage the Frogs to jump by hitting the ground behind the frogs… in on instance, one group found out that it was a Fear Factor Frog competition, cos one of the Frogs which was encouraged to leap ahead was so afraid, just turned over in fear and died! Aiyoh … poor frog!

Anyway, the afternoon led up to the evening, where the GTYC youth band brought up some delightful songs in concertish style … and that lead to Ps Julie Khoo sharing a message to the young people on “Fear is NOT a Factor”.

Ps Julie Khoo (or PJK) as we commonly know her started her session by asking who was afraid of Worms, Crickets, Cockcroaches and Frogs. She managed to find the four volunteers who were each fearful of the items above. Angeline Teh was afraid of worms, Joshua Ang was afraid of Crickets, Charisse Tay was afraid of roaches and this guy called Sean was afraid of frogs. Ps Julie told them in order for you to overcome your fears, you need to face your fears head on, and to overcome them!

And unbeknown to them, a team set up a table on the stage with transparent containers filled individually with Worms, Crickets, Cockcroaches and Frogs and each of the four had to learn to “face their fears”!! hehehe. It was an interesting site, as Sean who was afraid of frogs managed to pick up the frog, and even place the frog on his head! 🙂 YAY!!!!!! Fear is NOT a Factor!

One of the exciting moments during the roaches show, Ps Julie picked up a couple of Roaches from the container, and threw them out at the audience. You should have seen and heard the shreiks, and screams and yells and crowd movement to get out of the way! 🙂 pretty funny! Only to find out later, they were all plastic roaches that Ps Julie bought for 30 cents each! 🙂

Well to come to the highlight of the nite, Ps Julie then informed us that she overcame fears of all these creatures a long time ago. She then showed a video of her and a team that was in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah a month ago. In the Video, there was an Orange/grey/black worm that was crawling on Ps Julie’s hand. It even looked furry .. and sort of cute too! So Ps Julie was talking to the locals (kadazans) about the worms, and she picked up the worm and slurped the worm in her mouth and pulled out the worm – still alive! Ewwwwwwwwww!!!!

Ps Julie .. slurped it two more times. Comments came in the background – “Is Ps Julie trying to drown the worm with saliva?” … ewwwwww! And then one of the locals told her that it would be better if she bit just beneath the head of the worm and don’t eat the head, And in one go, Ps Julie put the whole squiggly crawly worm in her mouth, bit the head off and chewed and chewed and swallowed it all! Super Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

Everyone in the Fear is NOT a Factor rally screamed and yelled at the same time! Wow!! It was an amazing sight!! So better make sure you are in church if Ps Julie shows that video again. Its a sight not to be missed!!

Ps Julie Khoo shared a five pointer on how to overcome the fears that young people would go thru in their lives… Many young people were ministred last nite and responded to the altar call, and we even had two young people accepting Christ at the end!

Fear is definitely NOT a Factor for many young people last nite and most definitely its not a Factor for Ps Julie Khoo. 🙂 Yay our pastor is a brave pastor!

[p/s Will try and get some pics & video to add on to this post!!! 😉 I’m sure the graphical representation will help you enjoy it more than the text description above.]

Video: Darlene Zschech and Cindy Cruse Ratcliff at Lakewood Church

Filed under: Christian, DEETEE, Video, Worship — delephant @ 8:01 pm

Awesome, was really glad to stumble on this youtube website that featured three quality videos of Darlene and Cindy. Wow .. i mean i love the songs from Hillsong, and i also love the songs from Lakewood Church. (For those who do not know, that’s where Israel Houghton is from as well, and he did a couple of albums with Cindy Cruse Ratcliff).

Anyway, the videos are three parts recordings of the church service at Lakewood Church (Houston, Texas), each video is about 10mins long in playback time. You also get to see Lakewood’s pastor, Pastor Joel Osteen and his entire Church, its huge, with two teams of Choir in the background and a huge Band (pretty full).

Therefore the buffering will take a while. But i would say be patient and it will definitely be worth the wait.

Here are the links of the three videos and I’ve also embeded them on this blog.

Video 1 : Darlene & Cindy singing Salvation Is Here & The Freedom We Know

Video 2 : Darlene & Cindy singing Your Love & At The Cross

Video 3 : Darlene & Cindy singing None But Jesus & Turn It Around

The videos are great, the combination of Darlene Zschech and Cindy Cruse Ratcliff are just fabulous. I hope you’ll enjoy them like i did and be blest as i was. 🙂

Just for additional info, I will give you the album links for each of the songs above.

1. Salvation Is Here [Hillsong : [Hillsong : Mighty To SaveSample
2. The Freedom We Know [Hillsong : Mighty To SaveSample
3. Your Love [not sure about this one!]
4. At The Cross [Hillsong : Mighty To SaveSample
5. None But Jesus [Hillsong : Mighty To SaveSample
6. Turn It Around [Israel & New Breed : Alive in South Africa :Sample]
