This aint a gay story but rather its about a story about a guy!

This is so funny, (but i guess its may not be that humourous from Simon’s view).

U see, we have this guy in church. His name is Simon Lee.

He’s a typical macho guy. Do weights, the handy guy who loves the outdoor and camping and can jog from PJ Old Town to Bandar Utama in one breath … that type of thingy. Needless to say that Simon is also a worshipper and an excellent drummer in our church. He’s such a dear brother.

He loves music, jazz and sound. So it would be rather appropriate that many times out of his own interest, he tends to look into the sound quality of our worship practices, at times he even helps sets it up as well.

Last Thursday nite we had our worship practise. We were using Maranatha Hall, and since the Paradise Live had the Concert in our Church last Sunday, Simon took some time to help re-set up the stage in our church – Maranatha Hall. He’s rather meticulous in all these things, from the positioning of the Microphones, the stands, the feedback monitors and all lah. So he would go about in his way to carry things here and there and put everything in place. to ensure acousticly it sounds great.

So after worship practise last Thursday, something happened.

This was his SMS to me:

Hey Daren

Bad news. Last nite I twisted my back picking up a Mic! Must’ve been a wrong angle. Was ok last nite but tis morning was stiff and now i can’t walk straight or drive. I think i will be out for at least a week. Might want to get another drummer to take over me. So Sorry.

Aiyoh! I dunno whether to smile or to sympathize with him when i read the SMS. Well to be honest i did Smile… (it was quite a big smile:) ). Anyway … poor simon’s aim was to help set up the stage area, but he ended up hurting himself. Yups, it was a Microphone that Broke his Back! – The BrokeBack Microphone! (told you it wasn’t a gay story)

Pray for him to recover ya!

And Yes ….  Simon is the guy on the Rite!

The theme song from Hillsongs latest album, Mighty To Save has been in my heart for the last two weeks.

Although i heard it many times on the CD, it only sorta jumped out at me when i saw the video in Spanish. The song is written by Reuben Morgan and Ben Fielding. When the video showed Reubs leading the song …. wow …. the chorus really jumped out at me.

It is a song of Delcaration of God’s Greatness and Power over the enemy and the hold of the enemy over our lives. God is indeed in control and He Reigns in us!

Nathanael’s Ketogenic Diet

Nathanael started on the Ketogenic Diet at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur, under the care of Dr Choy Yew Sing (Metabolic / Genetic Specialist) and Puan Mariam (Dietitian) on 18 September.

We are currently still observing the progress of the Ketogenic Diet in Nathanael. Nathanael stayed in the hospital for 9 days.

Will be in hospital the next 2 weeks

Have taken leave and will be in hospital the next two weeks, as our son goes thru the Ketogenic Diet in an effort to stop his seizures.

We’ll be updating our family blog, so do check on it on and off, and pray along with us that God will use this Ketogenic Diet to stop Nathanael’s seizures and so that he can be off all the anti convulsant drugs.

This blog will be really quiet for two weeks.

Tribute to Steve Irwin

Irwin, known as the Crocodile Hunter, died last week when a stingray’s barb stabbed him in the chest as he dived.

His death prompted outpourings of grief, with millions of well-wishers around the world sending tributes. 

<- The picture Australia Zoo … Irwin fans have been paying tribute with flowers since his death last week.

Hundreds of grieving admirers camped overnight outside three locations in his home state of Queensland for a chance to attend next week’s farewell. The televised service will be held in the “Crocoseum” of Australia Zoo.

Johnny & Andrew – Basketball Freestyle Stars!

This is so cool to see both Johnny Ong & Andrew Yong in the Star Metro (Page 22) today under the feature of their loving sport – Basketball.

Saw them growing up in Sarah’s secondary cell group (SS19A) in Subang Jaya. From as young as Form 2 / Form 3 till now. Its great that their passion and fervour in their sports have brought them up on to the newspapers. I remember how each Friday after cell, they will have Basketball sessions with the rest of the guys (and some girls .. rite Sarah) in the home of the cell group.

Celebrating with you guys … Go for it and Win all the Big Ones!!!

TWO buddies pitted against each other in a one-on-one elimination round. 

Universiti Malaya education degree student Johnny Ong, 20, had to face the harsh reality of finishing second best against his close friend Andrew Yong, 19, in the round, in search of the top six performers at the fifth leg of the inaugural StarMetro In Search Freestylists competition. 

“It was a very close call against Johnny. Although we are close friends, both of us went all out for a win. Frankly, no one wanted to lose. It was sad that only one of us could get through. I was a surprise that I managed to edge him for the spot,” said Yong, a business degree student at Monash University in Sunway.  

“We have been playing together since we were in secondary school. Andrew anticipated all my moves. It was hard for me to pull the tricks off against him on that day,” added Ong.  

While Yong advanced to be among the top 18 freestylists to qualify for the Grand Final scheduled at Berjaya Times Square on Sept 17, Ong had to make a last ditch effort to qualify at AND1 Streetball Challenge’s sixth leg held at Kuantan Parade in Pahang last month.  

Top three freestylists were selected from each of the challenge’s first six legs for the Grand Final.
